In Safety Harbor’s Christmas Parade
Hat’Attudes, a local chapter of the Red Hat Society,
was honored to be accompanied in the Safety Harbor Christmas parade by
Linda Murphy, “Esteemed Vice Mother” and one of the founders of what
today is the International Red Hat Society.
Hat’Attudes members and
their special guest are (l-r): Marge Middaugh, Evelyn Rossie, Judie
Carbaugh, Murphy, Beverly Douglas and Marilyn Mabe. The local club
members said their guest enjoyed the ride in an open convertible in
beautiful Florida weather.
Murphy was the first lady to receive a red
hat for her birthday nine years ago from her friend Sue Ellen Cooper.
She in turn gave several of her friends red hats and thus began the Red
Hat Society.

Also participating in the Safety Harbor Christmas parade were local artists Todd Ramquist and Kiaralinda, who said they were representing “Future Elfaholics of America.”
They also traveled to Miami with their costumes to participate in the King Mango Strut, which celebrated its 25th anniversary on New Year’s Eve with the theme “Still Crazy After All These Years.”
