Safety Harbor museum.

The Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History has named Juanita
Elmore as the newest member of its Board of Trustees.
Elmore is a native Floridian and has been a resident of Safety
Harbor for 25 years. She is presently employed by the City of Safety Harbor,
and for the past several years she has been responsible for the Safety Harbor’s
City Hall Black History Exhibit. She is the mother of two daughters and the grandmother
of four.
Elmore is the first African American to serve in this capacity.
She said she envisions the museum becoming more inclusive of the African
American community and hopes to reach out to the pioneer families whose
descendents are neighbors and friends. Her hope is to see more local residents,
some of whom are a treasure trove of information, become involved with the
Museum, she said.
“We welcome Juanita to the Board and look forward to working
with her,” said Bobbie Davidson, director of operations for the museum.
The museum is located at 329 Bayshore Blvd. S., Safety Harbor. Call
