Got unwanted electronics or chemical
waste? Collect the hazardous waste items from your home, office or
garage and properly dispose of them at the upcoming mobile
collection event 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Sat., Oct. 13 at Safety Harbor
Public Works, 1200 Railroad Ave., Safety Harbor.
Drive up and drop off your hazardous
electronics and chemicals. Pinellas County Utilities offers this
service free to county residents. Businesses should arrange for
drop off and payment by calling EQ Florida Inc. at 813-623-5302
(chemicals), or Creative Recycling Systems, Inc. at 813-621-2319
(electronics).
Hazardous waste items should never be put
in the trash can. They have the potential to contaminate our
ground, air and surface water, so they should never end up in the
landfill. Hazardous waste items include everyday things like
fluorescent light bulbs, cleaners, computers, TVs, printers, ink
cartridges, and rechargeable household batteries. They also include
items such as pesticides, paints, paint thinners, fertilizers,
automotive fluids, and much more.
For disposal questions and more
information on mobile collections or the permanent HEC3 location,
