Safety Harbor artist-instructor Karen Baker took Tropical Breeze to the cool mountains of northern New England, where she taught landscape painting workshops recently. Above, Baker poses with her students when they painted outdoors on the slopes of Okemo Mountain, a ski resort in Ludlow, Vermont.

Baker is founder and director of The Vermont School of Art & Creativity, which offers workshops during July and August in Vermont. She is a pastel artist and teacher well known for her colorful floral paintings. She has donated one of the paintings to be raffled during the “Art ’n Sole Open House Art Tour” to be held in Safety Harbor on Saturday, Nov.10.
