Christopher Still will be the keynote
speaker at the "2008 Dinner With the Arts" gala to benefit the
exhibitions and programs of the Gulf Coast Museum of Art.
Still's passion for Florida's history
and his gift of art have materialized into a celebrated career,
with his works visible throughout the state. A native Floridian,
Still's compositions capture the natural beauty and unique
heritage of Florida.
Known for large-scale projects such as the
10 murals located in the Florida House of Representatives in
Tallahassee or paintings and sculptures in the new Airside C at
Tampa International Airport, his work demonstrates the ability to
bridge art, science and history. His works can be found in museums
and private collections including the Governor's Mansion of
Florida, the Smithsonian Institution, the new Sand Pearl Resort in
Clearwater, and the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 19
at the Hilton Hotel at Carillon Park, St. Petersburg. The black tie
event features an auction of high-end art and experiences, and
Marilyn and John Connelly will be honored for their long time
support of the Museum and the arts.
For ticket information phone the Gulf
Coast Museum of Art at 727-518-6833, ext. 214.
