Safety Harbor Implements CodeRed Emergency Telephone Calling System
The City of Safety Harbor is now offering the CodeRed Emergency Telephone
Calling Service to keep its citizens informed during emergencies. CodeRed
uses a unique internet mapping system to
geographically target citizens and place computerized calls in the event of emergencies
ranging from hurricanes and fires
to public health issues like boil water alerts.
“One of the advantages of CodeRed is
that it will allow us to call both home and cell phones,” said Deputy Chief Joe
Accetta. “This system also gives us the
ability to target and notify the residents that are immediately being affected and we can activate the system from any computer with an internet connection.”
Residents interested in signing up for
CodeRed must register their phone number
with the Safety Harbor Fire Department.
Visit www.cityofsafetyharbor.com
and select the fire department from the
City Government menu. Click on the CodeRed icon at the bottom of the fire
department home page. Phone numbers
that are registered will be used only by the CodeRed system for emergency notifications.

Manager Brad Purdy at 727-
