The next Raymond James Super Pops program, “Cirque de la Symphonie,”features a breathtaking variety of seeminglyimpossible acts by aerial flyers, acrobats,contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers
and strongmen. It showcases many of the
best cirque artists in the world, including performers such as gymnast brothers Jarek
and Darek, above, and aerialist Aloysia
Gavre, below right.
The artists include world record
holders, gold-medal winners of
international competitions and some of the
most original cirque talent from around the
globe, all accompanied by The Florida
Orchestra performing familiar favorites by Khachaturian, Rimsky-Korsakov, John
Williams and others. Performances are at 8
p.m. Fri., Jan. 11 at the Tampa Bay
Performing Arts Center’s Carol Morsani Hall; 8 p.m. Sat., Jan. 12 and 7:30 p.m.
Sun., Jan. 13 at Mahaffey Theater at the
Progress Energy Center for the Arts in St.
Petersburg. The Sunday performance
previously scheduled for Ruth Eckerd Hall
has been moved to the Mahaffey.
