Safety Harbor for Safety Harbor Residents

As fifteen year residents, my husband and I love the real Florida we found in the City’s trees, architecture and friendliness of residents. That way of life is being threatened by a minority who believe that our gem of a City should be sold to the highest bidder. Often the loudest are not even City residents.

Moreover, residents have made their voices heard in recent elections as well as at Commission meetings, letters and calls. Somehow citizens are not being heard, and poorly considered development continues.

I represent a change in the way Safety Harbor does its business and how citizens are represented. I will use 7 years experience in city and state government and 18 years in the private sector to ensure this City is here for our children to enjoy.

We need:

•    A real dialogue with developers to ensure that resident concerns are really addressed and requirements complied with;
•    To implement the wishes of residents so clearly defined in the City’s recent visioning meetings.
•    To work with the Chamber of Commerce and business owners, to bring more businesses and restaurants to both downtown and the commercial/ light industrial areas of the City.
•    To preserve the ability of residents with more modest incomes to remain in their homes — rather than being forced out by rising property taxes and the destruction of their neighborhoods.

Safety Harbor is truly blessed with an extraordinary location and environment. I pledge to represent you in protecting our legacy while moving forward with well-considered and citizen-embraced development.

I commit to serving for the full term. I will serve with integrity and courage. I will always meet my fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities with careful and knowledgeable review of the issues. Vote for me and make your voice heard.
