Hotel Offers Free Parking To Guests Driving Hybrid Cars

Renaissance Hotels & Resorts is making it easier for travelers to be “green” and save some green, by offering complimentary parking to all guests who drive hybrid cars. Current hybrid cars can get up to 60 miles to the gallon and have lower greenhouse gas emissions. Effective now through Dec. 31, 2006, guest staying at a participating Renaissance, attending a meeting or dining in the restaurant, can park their hybrid for free.

“The Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza has always prided itself on being environmentally conscientious so we are eager to participate in this program and promote fuel efficiencies,” said Darryl McGarity, director of sales and marketing for the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza.

Valet charges at the hotel are $7 during daytime and $13 nightly. The Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza is located at 4200 Jim Walter Blvd. (or 2223 N. West Shore Blvd.), Tampa. For information, call 813-877-9200.

Renaissance Hotels and Resorts is part of Marriott International, Inc. which has been named by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an Energy Star® Partner of the Year for implementing programs that save more than 83 million kilowatt-hours (kwh) of electric energy consumption and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 68,000 tons annually.

Marriott is the only lodging company to be recognized and the only company to receive the EPA’s highest honor for two consecutive years.
