In recognition of National Spay/Neuter
Day, the Largo SPCA shelter is working with local veterinarians to
offer 100 spay-neuter surgeries at no cost Feb. 19-29 to pets of
people with limited income. Service includes pet vaccinations and
rabies shots.
If a simple surgery could save their
pet's life would most pet owners do it? Spaying and neutering a
four-legged friend could decrease the risk of many types of cancer
and infections, according to the Society for the Prevention of
Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Tampa Bay.
To qualify, applicants must apply in
person with a recent 1040 form. Applications may be made from 9
a.m.-4 p.m. every Tuesday at the SPCA shelter, 9099 130th Ave N.,
Largo or 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tues.-Fri. during the Feb. 19-29 period.
There are many programs throughout the
Tampa Bay area where pet owners can get their pet spayed or
neutered. In addition, the SPCA's year round "Fix a Pit" program
offers free spay/neuter surgeries to pit bull terriers and pit bull
mixes.

programs, call 727-586-3591 or visit www.SPCATampaBay.org.
