To the Editor:
I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks
to voters, friends, and family for their support of my Safety
Harbor Commission candidacy. I have been overwhelmed — again
— with the natural beauty of our city, the friendliness and
thoughtfulness of residents, and the diversity I found in
neighborhoods as I walked our town. Win or lose, my effort has
resulted with a rekindled passion to serve and help protect what we
all hold dear in our lovely city.
As a result of a 50/50 split vote and
irrespective of the election outcome, the new Commissioner has been
charged by all voters to address issues in a forthright, clear and
unbiased manor. In addition to the fiscal and environmental
challenges which the next year holds, we must embrace all views
respectfully, and work towards a real consensus — where
outside special interests hold no sway. We must be up to this
challenge.

our city.
