International clown Ron “Toto” Johnson, a graduate of Sarasota’s Ringling Clown College and former clown with Ringling Bros. & Barnum & Bailey Circus, recently performed in China. He frequently visits Safety Harbor to see his longtime friend and mentor John T. “Bumblefoot” Moeller, who retired from the profession at age 75.
Johnson takes Tropical Breeze along on his world-hopping adventures, which covered more than 60,000 miles last year, Moeller said. Johnson’s next trip is to the Azore Islands.
In May, Johnson was in China for the “Happy Huanggnushu 2008 International Circus Carnival.” In addition to performing as “Toto” in Huangguoshu, below, he also visited Peking’s Tiananmen Square, left.
