Small Expressions, exhibition of small scale fiber art, sponsored by the Handweavers Guild of America, coinciding with "Convergence," the group's biennial conference in Tampa. Tampa Bay Surface Design Guild: Texture in the Tropics, celebrating "Convergence 2008," the biannual National Handweaver's Guild of America's conference in Tampa, June 2008. Fiber art works in dyeing, art quilting, felting, weaving, embroidery, doll making and stitching. Also featuring, "Luminous: The Works of Jan Boyer," an exhibition of natural pigment dyed textiles in memory of a DFAC faculty member and artist; and, "Connie Lippert: Navajo Wedge Weave," natural pigment weavings based upon the traditional Navajo wedge weave technique developed 1870-1890. "California Dreaming: California Fibers at Convergence 2008" and "Tapestries of Abraham Ratter: Created at the Mambush Artists' Village in Israel," two exhibitions presented as a complement to "Convergence 2008 Tampa Bay," an international fiber arts conference June 22-28 in Tampa.
