There are ways to cut the glare from energy-saving bulbs.

(NAPSA)-Switching from regular lightbulbs to compact fluorescent ones could save up to $30 in energy bills over the lifetime of a bulb.

This seems like a bright idea in green lighting, yet some consumers resist switching due to what they say is the stark glaring light and unsightliness of spiral bulbs.

Fortunately, designers may have a solution. It's an attractive cover-up for the bulbs, designed to reduce glare, reflect a more natural light, and add a decorative touch to ceiling, track, vanity lighting and unshaded table lamps.

Called the Fluorescent Fixer, its clip-on design easily inserts into a spiral lightbulb, and the product comes in four distinct styles: contemporary frosted white, stained glass, antique Roman and Art Deco. There's also a line of Party Fixers in red, green, blue, orange, yellow and violet cover-ups, as well as themed and seasonal designs. The products are sold at Ace Hardware, Bed Bath & Beyond and Walgreens.
