Bridging the gulf between rock ‘n roll and classical and featuring rock concert lighting, The Florida Orchestra (TFO) teams up with a full rock band headed up by Randy Jackson, the lead singer of the band Zebra, for a night of music by Pink Floyd on Friday, Jan. 30.

This unique concert features 17 Pink Floyd tunes from Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall, including Money, Learning to Fly, and Comfortably Numb, among others. With arrangements by conductor Brent Haven, the program has been presented throughout the U.S. and has proven a great way to introduce rock fans to the symphony experience.
The two-hour concert will rock the Mahaffey Theater’s Progress Energy Center for one night only, Friday, January 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $35.

Raymond James Pops: Five by Design in Stay Tuned
The vocal group Five by Design returns to The Florida Orchestra with a new show called “Stay Tuned” for the next Raymond James Pops concert. This tribute to the early days of television variety shows of Dinah Shore, Perry Como, Milton Berle and others includes such hit songs as I Feel a Song Comin’ On, Hernando’s Hideaway, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, The Girl from Ipanema and New York, New York as well as nostalgic commercial jingles and famous skits and comedy bits from the 1950s. Progress Energy Masterworks: Petrushka with Puppets
Stefan Sanderling conducts this all-Russian program of Stravinsky’s spirited and playful Circus Polka, and Borodin’s Symphony No. 2. Featuring the Bits N’ Pieces Puppet Theatre, the evening concludes with carnival time in 19th century St. Petersburg, Russia, with 9-foot tall giant puppets springing to life to act out the magical ballet story of Stravinsky’s Petrushka. Progress Energy Masterworks: Pictures at an Exhibition
In this all-Russian program, award-winning German Pianist Peter Rosel performs Rachmaninoff’s flamboyant showstopper Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini. Stefan Sanderling conducts this program, which also showcases Mussorgsky’s playful and powerful Pictures at an Exhibition and Rimsky-Korsakov’s musical tale of The Invisible City of Kitezh.
