A Nutcracker Miracle On Tampa Road E-mail

To the Editor:

Once Upon A Time...

There was a miracle at 3980 Tampa Road in Suite 206. it was The Nutcracker season of 2008 and many dance and fine arts schools couldn't get their Nutcracker or even their holiday productions off the ground as this was a tough Holiday Season — tougher than anyone had ever seen before.

First, one dance school in Tampa canceled their show, then another one in Palm Harbor canceled their show. Some of the dance schools nearby even had to close their doors.

Yet at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts & Dance, the parents were different than most... in fact, The Royal Academy Parents had this "positive believers" attitude, even The Royal Academy Performers were different — instead of being discouraged, they became even more determined... and the teachers were special too as this faculty had strong faith in each other, in their beloved performers and they had faith in the parents too.

All just kept believing, praying, striving and working together as a team. While other schools' became hopeless, distraught and negative, The Royal Academy families, students and faculty stayed hopeful and positive. They stayed in faith. They ALL believed in each other and knew they could get their Nutcracker up and off the ground.

And so they did just that... AND MORE.

They got not just one but two Nutcracker performances off the ground. Parents stepped forward to volunteer their help, their time, their ideas... they sewed, they emailed, they organized a fundraiser, they smiled at each other, they cheered each other and their children on toward VICTORY. They never lost faith. This amazing group even came together as a family and raised money for new sound equipment — which arrived yesterday (Dec. 9) :) — for their beloved performers to use for many productions to come.

The Royal Academy was able to put on not one but two Nutcracker productions giving more performance opportunities for the children, they were make their deposits on both The Wizard of Oz and Cinderella's performing arts centers in advance — ensuring the next two productions would be in place for all the talented and dedicated children to enjoy.

The performers of the Royal Academy received the BEST holiday gift of all... a sanctuary where each singer, actor and dancer could Laugh, Create, Sing, Dance... and Live out their dreams! Everyone's lives were enriched.

You might think that this was the largest fine arts school in the area? But no it wasn't — it was small & elite. You might think that this was the oldest fine arts school? But in fact, it was one of the newer ones & they focused on quality...

What did this fine arts program have that was different from all the rest you might ask? It was the FAITH, TEAM WORK and SPIRIT of ALL... and even more great things came about — a memorable example was set by incredible parents and teachers for their children to remember always — YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO and NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS... STAY IN FAITH.

Thank you to each of you for your "can do spirit", for your prayers & for staying in faith AND for showing y/our children that by working together and believing... we/they can achieve ANYTHING we/they put their minds to.

May God bless and keep you & yours. And may all your children's dreams continue to come true... and may all your days be merry and bright!

Warmest Wishes and Thanks,
Jessica Davies, Artistic Director
