Brian Bergin, Safety Harbor resident, sighted a coyote and offers the following report:

"I would like to notify residents that I live between Bayshore and Phillipe Parkway and that a large coyote has been sighted numerous times during the evening hours. He is approximately 50 lbs. and has little fear of humans.

Both times that he was spotted earlier in the week he was walking along the mangroves near Bayview and Bayshore.  It is suggested that you make sure to keep your pets indoors during the evening hours and that you not leave any pet food outdoors.

The animal probably lives in Phillipe Park and ventures out of the park during the evening hours looking for food."

Be aware of other wild animals foraging in the twilight or nighttime hours. This is a stock photo of a coyote and not one taken by a local photo enthusiast.
