Ikebana International, St. Petersburg Chapter will present its 47th annual
Exhibition of Ikebana titled “ Obi Festival and Ikebana “ at the Treasure
Island Community Center at l Park Place & 106th St.,Treasure Island.
Saturday, March 21,2009 from 9am to 5pm
Sunday, March 22, 2009 from 10 am to 4pm
Japanese floral design combined with the beautiful Obi sash worn by
Japanese women comprise the theme for this year - admission is FREE.
More than 100 Japanese flower arrangements will be displayed and
features “ Men in Ikebana “.
Demonstrations by Dr.Ricardo Carrasco on Saturday a 2:00pm;
Mr. Teddy Steenson on Sunday at l:00pm;
and Donna Bosack “The Art of Obi Decor” both
Saturday & Sunday at ll:30am.
Classes in Ikebana are scheduled on Sat. At 12:30 & 3:30
and Sun. At 2:30. All classes include container, pin-holder and
flowers $25.
