ERNEST HEMINGWAY LOOK-A-LIKES
RETURN TO TAMPA BAY FOR
3rd ANNUAL FEBRUARY GATHERING
Contingent of Competitors Who Flock to Key West Yearly
Head for St. Petersburg For Winter Fun
White-bearded men with more than a passing resemblance to the late literary giant and avid sportsman Ernest Hemingway will return to the Tampa Bay area later this month for their annual mid-year get-together.
Dozens of the same competitors who vie for annual honors bestowed on one lucky look-a-like each summer in Key West will travel from across the country to stay at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort on St. Pete Beach to reunite Feb. 27 – March 1.
Activities planned include a weekend dinner for society members and guests
at Sloppy Joe’s on Treasure Island.
The group includes dozens of Papas, previous Hemingway Look-A-Like winners,
and Wannabes, contestants who haven’t yet laid claim to the title.
This marks the third consecutive year the group has gathered in Pinellas County
for their winter festivities.
The event organizer is Nina Hoochuk, who lives in Apollo Beach with her husband, “Bear,” a Wannabe who competes for the coveted Hemingway Look-A-Like title annually in Key West.
