| Violet H. Dumanowski,
97, a longtime Safety Harbor resident, died February 15, 2009. She was
born December 5, 1911 in Chicago to Winnifred and Richard Cannan. She
had many varied interests and passions and loved her retired years in
Safety Harbor, where she founded the garden club. She was a longtime
member of Northwood Presbyterian Church, a past Worthy Matron of the
America-Cyrene Chapter #454, Order of the Eastern Star in Chicago where
she was a 60+ year member and a Grand Lecturer for the State of
Illinois. She was a longtime member of the Clearwater Power Squadron,
life member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs and was founder
of the Safety Harbor Garden Club. She spent many years volunteering at
the Safety Harbor Museum of Regional History and the Safety Harbor
Chamber of Commerce. She was a wonderful artist, gardener and friend to
many. She was preceded in death by husbands Christian M. Pesavento and
Edmund Dumanowski, her sister Pearl and most of her longtime friends.
She spent many happy years of marriage and travel with her husband
Edmund. She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Andrew) Philyaw, Safety
Harbor; grandchildren Denise and Steven Philyaw; and, many grandnieces
and grandnephews. |
