Suncoast Waldorf School will host an open house on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 11:00am to 1:00pm on the campus located at 1857 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. Prospective parents will have the opportunity to tour the campus and teachers at Suncoast Waldorf School will lead visitors in a few typical school activities, such as the ‘Morning Circle’ of the early grades and an 8th grade science experiment. These activities allow parents to experience firsthand some of the unique aspects of the Waldorf curriculum, where education is an art of teaching.
“The heart of the Waldorf method is the conviction that education is an art – it must speak to the child’s experience. To educate the whole child his heart and will must be reached, as well as his mind.” – Rudolf Steiner, founder of Waldorf education.
Suncoast Waldorf School is dedicated to bringing children and families in the Tampa Bay area the highest quality classical education available. Its pure Waldorf curriculum promotes creativity, critical thinking, social responsibility and a lifelong love of learning. Suncoast Waldorf School includes parent / child classes, a transitional kindergarten (for 3 – 4 year olds), a full-time kindergarten and grades one through eight.
An additional open house is scheduled for May 16th.
