Congratulate Brian Strasser
The fourth time was the charm, joked Michael Jordan, District Manager of the USPS Suncoast District as he swore in Brian Strasser as Safety Harbor’s 39th postmaster. Since joining the local office in 2000, Strasser had three times served as “Officer-in-Charge” or temporary postmaster.
He began his postal career in Massapequa, Long Island in 1987. He moved to Clearwater in 1988 and held a variety of postal positions before transferring to Safety Harbor.
Jordan said Strasser is a survivor and related how he survived an accident in the Safety Harbor Post Office break room. Strasser was sitting on a chair near the wall several years ago when a driver on Third Avenue lost control of his vehicle while attempting to park. The car plowed through the wall, throwing Strasser across the room. He was knocked unconscious but suffered no lasting injury.
Strasser’s wife, Debbie, two children, Robert and Natalie, and mother, Margaret Strasser, all attended the ceremony. His daughter, a USF graduate, recently completed boot camp and is being deployed to Afghanistan with the U.S. Army Reserves.
