Clearwater High School Student, Cadet Patrick Toglia,
received the MOAA JROTC Medal at a recent ceremony in the presence of his peers
and his instructor, Col. Mike Davis. The medal was presented to Toglia by
members of the board of the Clearwater Chapter of The Military Officers
Association of America. Pictured above (l-r) are: Major Skip Hartnett, Major
Carl Lowe, Cadet Patrick Toglia and CDR Victor Wood. Toglia was nominated for
this award because he is an outstanding student and citizen. MOAA members said
he possesses self discipline, self confidence and social graces that separate
him from the rest of his class. Being a solid leader, he has developed respect
for and the understanding of the need for constitutional authority in a
democratic society. He is 16 years old and the son of Thomas and Judy Toglia of
Clearwater.
