First Place Patriot’s Pen Winner Michelle Wang reads her winning composition. The VFW and Ladies Auxiliary Post #10093  team up with local middle and high schools for the annual Patriot’s Pen and Voice of Democracy programs, which encourage students to write, be patriotic and compete in contests at local, district, state and national levels. This year’s participating schools included Safety Harbor and Carwise Middle School and the JROTC, generating a total of 82 written contest entries from students in Safety Harbor, Clearwater and surrounding areas.
