“Fresh Fish: A New Generation of
Pinellas County Artists,” opening Saturday, Aug. 25, is a
three-person show highlighting the contemporary images and
fresh perspectives of the younger generation of Pinellas
artists.
Christine Renc-Carter of Dunedin, director
of exhibitions at Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, coordinated
the exhibition, which features her own new works which include
mixed media graphics, monoprints and oils. She has previously
exhibited at The Painted Fish Gallery.
Also featured are new works by Roby
MacDougall of St. Petersburg, whose mixed media paintings have been
described as “pop surrealism.” Simon Boses, a St.
Petersburg ceramic sculptor whose work is influenced by the
cartoon, has exhibited at Florida Craftsmen Gallery.
The show will run Aug. 25 - Oct. 7. The
public is invited to an outdoors opening reception with live music
by Sean Delong, 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug 25. The Painted Fish Gallery
