The Leading Ladies of PAC Foundation
celebrated 25 years of fundraising and fun-raising for the Youth
Education Programs of Ruth Eckerd Hall with a party at the Carlouel
Yacht Club on May 24. The event featured the installation of
officers for 2007-2008, the presentation of proceeds of the
year’s fundraising efforts, and a performance by the Ruth
Eckerd Hall Teen Performing Troupe.
Installed as the Leading Ladies executive
officers were: Kelly Machbitz, president; Bridget Meyer, 1st vice
president; Sandra Stroyne, 2nd vice president; Rita Wilson,
recording secretary; Jenny Austin, corresponding secretary; Sue
Bowles, treasurer; and, Charlotte Picker, assistant treasurer.
President Machbitz and Treasurer Bowles
then presented a check for $80,000 representing the proceeds from
POSH Sale, Parties Potpourri, Breakfast with Santa and Winter
Wonderland to Robert Freedman, president/CEO of Ruth Eckerd Hall,
and Rosanna Sheppard, director of the Teen Performing Troupe.
The Teen Performing Troupe, a talented
group of 10 Pinellas County high school students, sang lively show
tunes from the ’40s through present day. The group visits and
entertains residents and patients in local medical facilities.
