Volunteers Sought To Serve Elderly E-mail
Thursday, 01 March 2007

Faith in Action of Upper Pinellas, Inc. (FIAUP), a not-for-profit, non-sectarian agency, has been serving the area's older adults and persons with disabilities since 1995. The FIAUP mission is to assist with services that allow people to remain independent in their own homes and remain connected to the community. FIAUP serves Upper Pinellas County communities including Largo, Safety Harbor, Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs without restriction to age, income, race, religion, national origin, language, sex, sexual preference or physical handicap. The primary providers of the services are volunteers, neighbors helping neighbors in need of assistance.

Virtually all of FIAUP's care receivers live alone. They either have no family, have been forgotten by their family or have family scattered across the U.S. Volunteers are needed seven days a week for anything from a couple of hours once a week to once a month.

Call FIAUP at 727-738-4307 to arrange for a short orientation session or visit FIAUP on the web at fiaup.org. You can make a difference.
