Safety Harbor presents a three-day May
Days Celebration the weekend of May 18-20 to mark its 90th
anniversary as a city. May Days will host events on Main Street as
well as at the Safety Harbor Marina.
Kick off is at 6 p.m. Friday with
entertainment at the Gazebo in Main Street's John Wilson Park and
merchant's participating in the monthly 3rd Friday free event. The
theme is "Mayberry, FLA."
Saturday will start at 7:30 a.m. with the
23rd Annual Safety Harbor Sprints road race, sponsored by the
Safety Harbor Chamber of Commerce. A 5K run will be held on a
certified course along scenic Old Tampa Bay, followed at 8:30 a.m.
with the Main Street mile run/walk through downtown Safety
Harbor.
The festivities continue later that
evening. At 5 p.m. the 90th Anniversary Celebration Parade will be
held on Main Street, followed by more family entertainment at the
Gazebo, featuring Charlie Vegas and The New Blues Combo, plus food,
beverages and more,
The weekend will close with the annual
Kiwanis Club Arts & Crafts Festival on Main Street, beginning
at 10 a.m. and featuring more than 100 vendors.
