Each April, a reunion is held of the “Friends of Safety Harbor,” an informal group that began more than 25 years ago as a reunion of classmates from Safety Harbor schools. Attendees travel from as far as Maine and California to meet with classmates and neighbors, some of whom have spent most of their lives in Safety Harbor. The group includes descendants of Odet Philippe, first settler in Pinellas County, and Safety Harbor’s first mayor, G.W. Campbell.
