Safety Harbor Presents 'Art 'n Sole Open House Art Tour' November 10 |

Safety Harbor's Public Art Committee has
organized a tour of local homes of interest, artists' homes and
art-related activities including raffles, prizes and a visual
scavenger hunt for the "Art 'n Sole Open House Art Tour," 10
a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.
Tickets are now on sale at Safety
Harbor City Hall. Prices are: adults $5; children 12 and under $1.
All proceeds are to benefit the Safety Harbor Public Library's
project "Voices of Humanity, Footsteps Thru Time," which has need
of books, shelving, art and software. Tickets will be for sale the
day of the event at the Safety Harbor Community Center, 650 Ninth
Ave. S., where participants will receive a tour map. Advanced
ticket holders must redeem their ticket at the Community Center on
the day of the event to receive the tour map.
Raffle items include
two matted, ready for framing fine art prints by local artists
Andrew K. Philyaw and Karen Baker. Philyaw paints Florida nature
scenes in watercolor. He displays his paintings and prints in
Safety Harbor at Art Designs and Green Springs Bistro. One of his
paintings was chosen by Morton Plant Hospital to be displayed at
its new Morgan Heart Wing in Clearwater. A landscape and floral
artist and workshop instructor, Baker paints primarily in the
pastel medium. She is host of "The Creative Edge," a program about
the visual arts that airs on Public Access TV in Pinellas County.
She is a member of The Exhibiting Society of Artists, the Pastel
Society of Tampa Bay and the Dunedin Fine Art Center. The fine art
prints by Philyaw and Baker are on display at City Hall.
