 “Parrot Talk” by Andrew Philyaw.

Safety Harbor's Public Art Committee has organized a tour of local homes of interest, artists' homes and art-related activities including raffles, prizes and a visual scavenger hunt for the "Art 'n Sole Open House Art Tour," 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

Tickets are now on sale at Safety Harbor City Hall. Prices are: adults $5; children 12 and under $1. All proceeds are to benefit the Safety Harbor Public Library's project "Voices of Humanity, Footsteps Thru Time," which has need of books, shelving, art and software. Tickets will be for sale the day of the event at the Safety Harbor Community Center, 650 Ninth Ave. S., where participants will receive a tour map. Advanced ticket holders must redeem their ticket at the Community Center on the day of the event to receive the tour map.

Raffle items include two matted, ready for framing fine art prints by local artists Andrew K. Philyaw and Karen Baker. Philyaw paints Florida nature scenes in watercolor. He displays his paintings and prints in Safety Harbor at Art Designs and Green Springs Bistro. One of his paintings was chosen by Morton Plant Hospital to be displayed at its new Morgan Heart Wing in Clearwater. A landscape and floral artist and workshop instructor, Baker paints primarily in the pastel medium. She is host of "The Creative Edge," a program about the visual arts that airs on Public Access TV in Pinellas County. She is a member of The Exhibiting Society of Artists, the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay and the Dunedin Fine Art Center. The fine art prints by Philyaw and Baker are on display at City Hall.

The first clue in the visual scavenger hunt appears on Page 16 of this edition of Tropical Breeze.
